umbra is black on black on black. a 240 GSM waffle knit in a deep, soft black, with a shape pressed into the front in a slightly darker black: a blur of thin vertical lines, like a face dissolving into static, or a signal losing its connection. in a dim room, it’s nothing. under a streetlight or a camera flash, it appears.

then you turn around. the same ghostly shape sits across the back, and above it, in clean white type, a tongue-in-cheek line that makes people look twice and then smile. it’s the only thing on the whole piece that isn’t quiet.

the fit is oversized with a relaxed drop through the shoulders, and the waffle knit gives it a texture you can feel from across the room. wear it with baggy jeans, over a plain tee, or under a jacket when the night turns cold.
